Inspired by the Art Deco period and named ‘Lalique’ after the great glassmaker of the 1930s, this masque has been clothed in the browns, gold and dusty pinks that reflect the colours of the time. With a base of recycled sari material, ‘Lalique’ has been heavily hand-glitzed with natural pearls, beading sequins, crystals and Swarovski elements. Her upswept headdress has also been encrusted with crystals as well as rhinestones, deconstructed findings and up-cycled sari embossing from which drip garlands of brown and gold glass beading. Her starlike peakings of gold net and braid have been embellished with gold half beading and AB rhinestones and a brown and pink self-beaded braiding backed by rows of elongated pearl beading surrounds her face.
