Although available as separate pieces, these masks have been created as a complementary set for people who would like to attend a party or event as a couple who, whilst wishing to complement each other’s mask, nevertheless like to retain their respective individuality.
The base materials are a green-hued Japanese silk brocade featuring a soft arboreal design (a self-striped gold lamè provides a contrast on the “Colombina” {moon shaped} one) with a feature edging of a mirrored and amber rhinestone braiding - additionally hand embellished with green pearl beading and rhinestones. Reconstructed vintage jewellery has been utilised as the centrepieces and additional richness achieved by the application of gold netting and amber floral braiding.
With the brocade used as the base material on both masks and a contrasting self-stripe lamè on the Colombina (moon shape) one, the edges have been set with a deconstructed mirror and rhinestone braid - hand embellished with additional rhinestones and green pearl beading - and a quieter braid featuring matt gold beading.
The centrepieces on each have been made from pieces of reconstructed vintage jewellery which have been further embellished with additional rhinestones and pearl beading, with a spray of green rhinestone-edged gold-net leaves placed behind the Colombina green cabochon & pearl centrepiece.
Gold net panelling, bordered with a floral gold rhinestone and bead braiding on both masks, provides a sense of richness and a delicate deconstructed necklace winding over the Colombina gold lamè panel invites a further visual interest. .
